Robert E.  Young, age 79, of Huron, SD passed away on Monday, June 27, 2016 at Huron Regional Medical Center.

A Celebration of Robert's life will be held from 1-4 p.m. on Saturday, July 2, 2016 at Living Hope Alliance Church in Huron.

Robert Young, the son of Williard E.  and Joy F. (Bushey) Young, was born on November 3, 1936 in Sioux City, IA.  He attended school and graduated from high school.

Robert was a trucker and worked for various Trucking Companies including Glenn Denning Trucking in Minnesota and PTI Trucking and Parkhurst Trucking in Huron, SD for many years before retiring.

Robert married Marlene J.  Ruffenach on May 11, 1964 in Northwood, IA.  The couple started their lives together in Minnesota before moving to Iroquois in the summer of 1976.  They moved to Huron, SD in 1990.

Robert enjoyed hunting, fishing, and playing Cribbage.  He collected Zippo Lighters and loved to smoke a good cigar.  Robert owned a shop for over 20 years which he shared with his friends while they worked on cars, boats, and other small engines.  Working in the shop was great fun for Robert and he loved to get dirty working on a project.
