Robert Bob Salisbury, age 86, of Wolsey, died Sunday, March 5, 2006 at the Prairie View Care Center at Woonsocket where he was a resident since 1999. There will be a private family funeral service. Visitation will be Thursday afternoon and evening at the Welter Funeral Home with the family present from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Robert Marven Salisbury was born on August 12, 1919, to Jay Joseph II and Marian (Churchill) Salisbury at Huron. He attended the rural McBride Country School through the 8th grade near Wolsey. He farmed all his life on the family farm near Wolsey. He was a 50 + year member of the Masonic Lodge and served on the Hartland Township Board for several years. Robert married Mary Nell Paulger on April 21, 1946. He enjoyed fishing, farming, milking dairy cows, raising shorthorn livestock, family reunions, spending time with his children, grandchildren, and making that delicious homemade ice cream in the winter. He is survived by his wife, Mary Mickie of Wolsey; one daughter, Mary Louise (Vernon) Kuper of Wessington; 3 sons, Robert Salisbury Jr. of Wolsey, Kevan (Kary) Salisbury of Watertown, and Danny (Julia) Salisbury of Wolsey; 10 grandchildren, Lonnie, Robb, Shellee, and Quinnten Kuper, Kevan II, Kory, Kully, and Kiko Salisbury and Joe and Jamie Salisbury; and 7 great grandchildren, Cassie and Corbin Kuper, Justin Ellis and Shawn McBroom and Koby, Tanner and Brayden Kuper. He was preceded in death by one son Charles Chuck Salisbury in 2004, his parents, 1 sister, Frances Bader, and 4 brothers, Jay, Harry, Carroll and Irving who died in infancy. Pallbearers will be all his grandchildren. Honorary pallbearers will be all of his great-grandchildren.
