Robert Bob Reno, age 57, of 1269 8th St. SW, Huron, died on Thursday March 13, 2008, at the Huron Regional Medical Center. His funeral service will be at 2:00 PM Sunday March 16, 2008, at Mount Olivet Mennonite Church with Rev. David Erdman officiating. Burial will be at Restlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Saturday March 15, 2008, at the Welter Funeral Home, or SUnday afternoon one hour prior to the service at the church. The family will be present from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Saturday at the funeral home with a Prayer service at 7:00 PM. Robert F. Reno was born on September 19, 1950, to Leonard and Florence (Jockheck) Reno in Huron SD. He attended school in Tulare, SD, and graduated from Hitchcock High School in 1969, and spent many happy years at Pheasant City. Robert married Sharon Hofer on January 10, 1975, in Huron, SD. Robert worked construction and drove truck. He worked for Iky Wipf Construction, Olsen Implement, the City of Huron Street Department, Darwin Mandel Construction, and Farnams Genuine Parts (NAPA). Robert was a confirmed Lutheran. He was a member of The Beadle County Sportsmens Club, The Izaak Walton Club, Ducks Unlimited, and the National Wild Turkey Federation, serving as their cook in many instances. Robert enjoyed cooking, barbequeing, and grilling for crowds. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, woodworking, and practical jokes. Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Sharon, Huron, SD; son, Brian (Amy Johnson, fiance) Reno, Sioux Falls, SD; three sisters, Vivian Reno of Eustis, FL, Patty (Gary) Wood of, Cavour, SD, and Julie (Gary) Schmeichel of Hitchcock, SD; his brother, Bill (Ardelia) Reno of Huron, SD; his mother, Florence Reno of Hitchcock, SD; mother-in-law, Ruth Hofer of Huron, SD; brothers and sisters-in law, Diane and Larry Kleinsasser, Sandy and Larry Mack, Don and Debbie Hofer, and Arnie Hofer, all of Huron, SD; Lonny and Linda Hofer of Rapid City, SD; Bob and Priscilla Hofer, Pierre, SD; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and his morning coffee friends. Robert was preceded in death by his father, Leonard in 1993; father-in-law, Eli M. Hofer in 1979; and his four grandparents: Fred and Ida Jockheck and Robert and Elsie Reno.
