Robert "Bob" Patridge, age 76, of Rapid City, formerly of Huron, died Friday January 27, 2012, at his residence in Rapid City. Rapid City: Memorial visitation will be Monday, January 30, from 5-7 p.m. MST at Kirk Funeral Home in Rapid City. Huron: A second memorial visitation will be Tuesday, January 31, from 5-7 p.m. at Welter Funeral Home in Huron. Burial of his cremated remains will be Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at Wessington Cemetery in Wessington, SD. Welter Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements. Bob was born on June 21, 1935, in Hand County, SD, to Guy and Mary (Leslie)Patridge. Bob was raised on the family farm near Wessington. He graduated from Wessington High School in May of 1953. On April 4, 1954, Bob married Joyce Hein at the American Lutheran Church in Huron. Bob and Joyce lived in Huron until 1985. To this union six children were born. Bob worked for various Huron businesses during those years. He was employed as an office machine repairman. In 1971 Bob became an insurance salesman and an insurance claims adjuster. Bob owned and operated the H&R Block Tax Office in Huron until 1982. In 1985, Bob and Joyce moved to Rapid City where Bob continued his career as an insurance claims adjuster working for Dakota Claims Service and purchasing Rapid Claims Service. He retired from Rapid Claims Service in 2005. Bob enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening. Bob attended Faith Lutheran Church in Rapid City. Bob's family was the most important thing in this life. Grateful for having shared his life are his 6 children, Robin (Larry) Peterson of Pierre, Judy (Bob) Weed of Piedmont, Steve (Carol) Patridge of Rapid City, Aletha (Don) Maki of Rapid City, and Glenda Patridge of Park City, MT. He was also the proud Papa of 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Guy and Mary; Joyce, his wife of 52 years, in 2006; 2 sons, Robert Guy Patridge, Jr. as an infant, and Bill Patridge; and Lois Harmon, a cousin raised by his parents.
