Robert D. Fuller, son of Burton and Mabel (Chaplin) Fuller, was born on February 13, 1919, at the hospital in Huron. The family was living in Bonilla Township at the time of his birth. Bob attended school in Bonilla and graduated from high school in 1936. Following graduation he continued to live at home and worked on the family farm with his father.

On January 31, 1942, Bob married Viola Parkhurst in Hammond, IN. They lived on the Fuller family farm for a short period of time, then moving to a couple of farms in the Bonilla area, returning to the family farm in 1955.

Bob was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Bonilla and a past church elder; and a past member of the Bonilla School Board.

Although the farm was his work place he appreciated his connection with nature whenever he was plowing, threshing, and milking the cows. His other interests included his many travels across the United States visiting his children and their families, hunting, playing cards, and reading. In his younger days he enjoyed square dancing, and playing baseball and basketball. The farm has been in the Fuller family for over 110 years and Bob and Viola were extremely pleased when it was named a Centennial Farm at the South Dakota State Fair.

He is survived by his wife, Viola of Hitchcock; 6 children, Linda (Herb) Widmer of Madras, OR, Larry (Connie) Fuller of Clitherall, MN, Rosemary (Bob) Berg of Longville, MN, Cindy (Pat) Waligoske of Brookings, Wade (Marge) Fuller of Hitchcock, and Jill (Scott) Gehl of Medina, MN; 15 grandchildren, Riley Gehl, Jenna Gehl, Tyler Gehl, Jane (Luke Mattke) Fuller, Justin Fuller, Amy (Josh) Jones, Robby (Melissa) Waligoske, Jason Waligoske, Robin (Jason) Skolnick, Michelle (Chris) Campbell, Darcy Fuller, Sherry (Dave) Bordewyk, Nikki (Chris Knight) Clowers, Todd Werner, and Brett Werner; 10 great grandchildren, Rainger Clowers, Lokesh Knight, Solar Knight, Will Bordewyk, Beau Bordewyk, Jaydin Skolnick, Abby Waligoske, Nikki Waligoske, Conner Jones, and Brinley Fuller; 1 sister-in-law, Inez Fuller of Mission Viejo, CA; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents; 3 sisters and 2 brothers-in-law, Ione (Frank) Arneson, Vera (Gerald) McDonald, and infant Ruby Fuller; 7 brothers and 2 sisters-in-law, Roe, Russell, infant Day, Dayton (Justina), Harold Pete, Ceylon (Edith), and Theron "Jack" Fuller.
