Robert Lee Fox, age 80, of Huron, SD, passed away on Thursday April 11, 2013, at the Huron Regional Medical Center. His private Prayer Service was held on 2:00 p.m. Sunday, April 14, 2013, at the Trinity United Methodist Church in Iroquois, SD, with burial at the LeSueur Cemetery in Bancroft, SD. Robert Lee Fox, the son of John D. and Mollie (Grote) Fox, was born on September 9, 1932, in Lake Benton, MN. Bob attended school and graduated from Lake Benton High School. During his years in Lake Benton, Bob helped organize the Lake Benton Saddle Up Club. Bob moved to Bancroft SD, in 1953 where he lived until moving to Huron in 2007. Robert married Mary Lou McMillan in 1968. Robert farmed in the Bancroft area until 1978 when he retired due to health reasons. Robert then ran race horses for the next twenty years. He then started to buy and sell antiques. Bob enjoyed attending flea markets, the Prairie Village in Madison, SD, and other events. Wherever Bob went he enjoyed making friends and meeting people. Grateful for having shared in his life are his sister, Ilona Hellbush of California; three brothers: James Fox, John (Jean) Fox, and Darwin (Clara Mae) Fox, all of DeSmet SD; many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews; and good friend, Jim Iverson, who looked after Bob the last few years. Bob was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mary; two sisters, Barbara McKown, and Louella Broding; brother, Clifford Fox; nephews, Monte Fox, Brent Hellbush, and Jeffrey Fox; and niece, Marcelyn Hellbush.
