Richard "Dick" F. Stamp, age 88, of Huron, passed away on Sunday, August 21, 2022 at Avantara Huron in Huron, South Dakota. His memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, September 2, 2022 at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Huron. Visitation, with his family present, will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. His service will be live-streamed thru www.mtcalvaryhuron.org/livestream

Richard Frank Stamp was born on July 14, 1934 in Hendricks, Minnesota to parents George and Lucille (Null) Stamp. He graduated from White High School in White, South Dakota in 1952. Richard served in the United States Air Force from November 1953 before being honorably discharged in November 1957. Dick attended Hansen Trade School in Fargo, North Dakota, graduating in 1958. Dick moved to Huron in 1959.

Dick married Lila Boetel on August 31, 1968 in Yale, South Dakota. Dick and Lila made their home in Huron where they owned and operated an auto body shop. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and helping local farmers part-time. He was a member of the American Legion for 60 years, firefighter for 20 years and fire chief for 3 years. Dick was a member of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church.

He is survived by his wife, Lila of Huron; children Theodore "Ted" Stamp of Marshall, MN, and Sarah (Peter) Davidson of Brisbane, Australia; siblings, Marjorie Thoelke of Britton, SD, and Warren (Gaynelle) Stamp of Vancouver, WA; sisters-in-law Dorothy Stamp of Vancouver, WA and Gloria Boetel of Valparaiso, IN and brother-in-law, Lyle (Delores) Boetel of Cavour; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and parents-in-law, Carl and Amanda Boetel; brother Maurice Stamp; brothers-in-law Bryce Thoelke and Robert Boetel; and sister-in-law Norma Boetel.
