Richard James Lyon, 75, of Huron, passed away peacefully on January 1, 2025 at Avantara.

A family-directed memorial service for the public will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 9, 2025 at the Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Huron. Lunch in Richard's honor will be held after the service.

Richard was born April 3, 1949 in Huron, SD. He was the 2nd son of Bonnie Suiter Anderson and George Lyon. He lived his entire adult life working at various jobs in Huron.

His surviving family include his brothers; Jack (Dianne) Boatright, of Hartford, Obeyorn (Jill) Anderson, of Huron, Marvin Anderson, of St. Paul, MN, Mike (Kim) Anderson of Sartell, MN, and Jeff Miller, of Huron; and Uncle Keith Suiter, Goose Creek, SC. His special friend for over 50 years, Sharon Nelson, Huron. Several nieces and nephews.

Richard was preceded in death by his mother, Bonnie Suiter Anderson, stepfather Mel Anderson, brothers John Anderson and Dean Anderson.
