Richard "Dick" H. Eberlein, age 81, of Huron, passed away on Saturday, October 1, 2022 at his home in Huron. Per his wishes, there will be no services and Richard will be buried at South Dakota State Veteran's Cemetery in Sioux Falls, SD.

Dick was born on November 15, 1940 in Huron to parents Rollo and Florence (Hoerber) Eberlein. Richard attended Huron schools, graduating in 1958. Richard enlisted in the United States Army on June 3, 1958. He was honorably discharged on May 12, 1961. Richard moved to Palo Alto, California where he started his career as a police officer, retiring in 1991. Richard moved back to Huron in 2015.

He is survived by his siblings, Rhonda (Robert) Jorgensen of Huron and Stephanie (Ken) Mason of Alpharetta, GA; nieces, Dawn Foiles of Raymond, SD, Deb (Randy) Ernst of Sioux Falls, and Lori Perkins of Texas; great nieces, Laura (Mike Thompson) Foiles, Katie Foiles and Emily Foiles and great nephews, Robert (Danielle Rang) Foiles and Jake (Whitney) Foiles.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother James (Karen) Eberlein.
