Richard A. Anderson, age 84, of Huron, passed away on Tuesday, December 08, 2020 at Avantara Redfield in Redfield.
His funeral service will be at 10:30 AM on Saturday, December 12, 2020 at Restoration Church in Huron. The funeral service will be live-streamed thru the Restoration Church-Huron Facebook Page.
Visitation will be on Friday, December 11, 2020 from 3-6 PM at Welter Funeral Home, with family present from 4-6 PM. Masks are required.
Richard A. Anderson was born on January 27, 1936 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota to parents, Howard W. and Mabel (Schjodt) Anderson. He grew up in Sioux Falls, graduating from Washington High School in 1954. Richard was an electrician and worked for SoDak Circuits and Ferguson Electric for many years. He finished his career working at Wal-Mart until he retired.
Richard married Lori Larson in Huron on April 12, 1986.
Richard enjoyed going to races and loved watching Dale Earnhardt and Jeff Gordon of NASCAR Fame. He loved to play cards and had a good sense of humor and was very outgoing. He was friends with everybody. Richard was very devoted to his church. He went on several mission trips to Mexico and also to Uganda. He was a member of Assembly of God and Open Bible Church where he served as an elder.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Donna Jameson; parents Howard and Mabel; brothers Lowell, Warren, and Gary Anderson.
Grateful for having shared in his life is his wife, Lori of Huron; children, Craig (Kathy) Anderson of Arkansas, Deb (Bill) Calmus of Volga, Shelley Hayes of Florida, Lorissa Anderson of Huron, and Lacey Anderson of Sioux Falls; 13 grandchildren, Maria (Nathan) Thielen, Kristen Calmus, Kathryn (Craig) Frankel, Ross (Jess) Anderson, Ashley (Aaron) Founds, Shea Vogt, Brie (Matthias) DeFerme, Khye (Alyse) Vogt, Rhyanna Becerril, Marcus Anderson, Makiya Anderson, Damarion Anderson, and Jaydalynn Anderson; 11 great-grandchildren; brother Dennis (Pat) Anderson of Minneapolis and sister Karen Anderson of California; mother-in-law, Helen Larson of Huron; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
