Rhonda Jorgensen, age 80, of Huron, passed away on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, at Huron Regional Medical Center in Huron. Her funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at Welter Funeral Home in Huron with burial to follow at Restlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. to the time of service on Tuesday afternoon.
Rhonda Lee was born on April 30, 1945 in Huron to parents Rollo and Florence (Hoerber) Eberlein. Rhonda grew up in Huron and graduated from high school in 1963.
On April 29, 1966, Rhonda married Robert Jorgensen and together they had two daughters, Dawn and Debra.
Rhonda was a highly skilled and respected secretary, holding numerous administrative positions throughout Huron, including at the National Bank of South Dakota, Huron School District, Swift/Dakota Pork, and Dakota Cold Storage. A woman of many talents, she spoke multiple languages, owned a horse, and was a champion trapshooter. Known by her CB radio handle "Lady Pathfinder," Rhonda also had a love for fast cars. Her greatest joy came from her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were the center of her world. She was a devoted member of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church.
Rhonda is survived by her daughters, Dawn Foiles of Huron and Debra (Randy) Ernst of Sioux Falls; grandchildren Laura (Mike Thompson) Foiles of Sioux Falls, Katie Foiles of Brookings, Robert (Danielle) Foiles of Chancellor, Jacob (Whitney) Foiles of White, Emily Foiles of Moldova; great-grandchildren Aurora Foiles, Thomas Foiles and Aiden Thompson; her sister Stephanie (Ken) Mason of Georgia; many special cousins including Connie (Dick) Green and Cara Osier and family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert; her brothers, Jim and Dick Eberlein; and an infant brother, Craig.
