Rex Hanson, Age 79 of Huron, SD passed away on Friday, March 17, 2023, at Avantara Huron.  Cremation has taken place and a memorial service with burial in Columbia, SD will be held at a later date.

Rex Hanson, the son of Norwood and Loree (Hammond) Hanson, was born on September 18, 1943, in Redfield, SD.  He attended school and graduated From Redfield High School. Rex served a two year tour in Viet Nam. Rex worked for the Wyoming Gas and Power Company for many years.

One of Rex's favorite pastimes was playing pinocle at the large family gatherings and all the food that came with it.

Grateful for having shared in Rex's life are his daughter, Stacy Hanson of Cheyenne, WY; his grandchildren; four sisters: Linda Ferris of Rosemont, MN, Penny (David) DeJean of Huron, SD, Debra (Chuck) Warfield of Nampa, ID, and Mara Mager also of Huron, SD; three brothers: Gaylord Hanson of Lake Preston, SD, Randall (Verna) Hanson of Glennock, WY, and Kim (Char) Hanson of Arlington, SD; and several nieces and nephews.

Rex was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Landis Hanson; two brothers: Mark and Tab Hanson and three sisters: Lovell Dahl, Loree Clarambeau, and Dana Rycraft.
