Randy Rycraft, age 61, of Huron, died on Sunday, February 20, 2011, at the Dougherty Hospice House in Sioux Falls, SD, after a 5 month battle with Wegeners Disease.
His Memorial Service will be 10;00 a.m. Thursday, February 24, 2011, at the Welter Funeral Home in Huron, SD, with burial of his cremated remains at the Broadland Cemetery and Military Rites by the Huron Veterans Council.
Visitation with the family present will be from 9:00 a.m. until the start of the service on Thursday.
Randy Rycraft, the son of Harold and Amanda (Stierly) Rycraft, was born on February 27, 1949, in Huron, SD. Randy received his GED during his years in the military. Randy served his country in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged in 1970.
Randy married Barb Chaplin in Huron, SD. Randy worked for Lampert Lumber, Dakota Pork and Dakota Provisions as a forklift operator.
Randy enjoyed playing cards, fishing, car races, antique collecting, and spending time with his grandchildren.
Grateful for having shared in his life are his 2 children, Becky (Kris) Luellman, of Hoskins, NE, and Reese Rycraft, of Huron, SD; 4 grandchildren: Kieren, Kaden, Kaylor, and Kash Luellman all of Hoskins, NE; 3 brothers, Donald (Diane) Herman, of Watertown, SD, Rick Rycraft, of Merriam, KS, and Rex (Debora) Rycraft, of Huron, SD; 3 sisters, Marlene (Zeke) Waldner, Sheila Moore, and Ginger (Dan) Brake, all of Huron, SD; 2 aunts, Evelyn (Welty) Stafford, of Oregon, and Olga Huizenga, of Huron, SD; and many nieces and nephews.
Randy was preceded in death by his mother, Amanda; father, Harold; biological father, Louis Welty; sister, Terri Welty; ex wife Dana Johnson, and both sets of grandparents.
