Obituary
Randy N. Erickson, age 70, of Huron, passed away on Monday, March 12, 2018 at Huron Regional Medical Center.
His Memorial Service will be held on Friday, March 16, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at Our Savior's Lutheran Church followed by military honors by the Huron Veteran's Council. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.
Randy was born on August 29, 1947 in Huron to Edward and Wanda (James) Erickson. He attended Huron schools graduating in 1966.
Randy joined the US Navy and served two tours in Viet Nam. He was the recipient of the Purple Heart, National Defense Service Medal, Combat Action Ribbon, Viet Nam Service Medical with 1 star and the RVN Campaign Medal with Device. He was honorably discharged in 1972.
Randy married Janet Sutton in Huron on November 3, 1973. To this union, three children were born.
Randy was a mail carrier for 28 years with the United States Postal Service in Huron.
Randy was an avid fisherman with most of his fish being caught on the Missouri River. He and his family enjoyed camping and enjoying fresh walleye cooked by Randy. He enjoyed carpentry, painting, and cheering on the Green Bay Packers.
Grateful for having shared in his life is his wife, Janet of Huron; children; Darrin and Kelly Erickson of Aurora, CO; Neil and Carla Erickson of Sioux Falls, SD; and Stephanie and Shane Hannah of Tucson, AZ; 10 grandchildren; and one sister, Reda Hansen of Huron.
He was preceded in death by his parents and several aunts and uncles.
