Phyllis Vesta Studioso, age 88, of Huron and formerly of Wolsey, died Thursday, January 8, 2015 at the Sunquest Healthcare Center in Huron. Her funeral service will be at 10:30 am on Monday, January 12th at First Presbyterian Church in Wolsey with burial in Wolsey Cemetery. Visitation with family present will be from 5 to 7 pm on Sunday with a prayer service at 7pm at the First Presbyterian Church in Wolsey; or one hour prior to the funeral service on Monday. Vesta was born on January 20, 1926 in Wolsey to James and Nina (Minium) Pribyl. She graduated from Wolsey High School and attended Huron College and Sprague Hospital of Nursing for her RN. In World War II she was in the Cadet Nursing Core stationed at Greenpoint Hospital in Brooklyn, N.Y. She later received her Bachelor's degree from Jersey State College. While Vesta was in nursing school, she met John Studioso, they were united in marriage on Nov. 6, 1948 in Huron. They lived in Hopatcong, NJ for 48 years and Vesta spent 22 years as the Hopatcong High School nurse and church organist at the Westside United Methodist Church in Hopatcong. She enjoyed music, crocheting, gardening, reading, and spending time with her family and friends. Vesta is survived by three daughters, Toni (Randy) Donovan of Winner, SD, Joni (James) Parr of Leonardo, NJ and Nina (Gary) Pribyl of Wolsey, SD; 1 son, James (Tamara) Studioso of Piedmont, SD; 18 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren; and one sister, Verona (Richard) Braun of Gwynedd, PA. Vesta was preceded in death by her parents; husband John on December 13, 2007; and 2 brothers, Earnest and Emmery.
