She definitely passed on her bowling "genes" to her son and grandsons. After her retirement she fulfilled a lifelong dream of owning and living in a brick home. While residing in Lead, she was very active in Trinity United Methodist Church and the Women's Circle. She loved volunteering whenever needed at church or the Twin City Clothing Center. She also enjoyed gardening and entertaining. People still comment on the beautiful flowers she grew. After Phyllis was diagnosed with Alzheimer disease in 2004, Rhonda provided care for her until Phyllis required more extensive care. Rhonda became her guardian, and Phyllis was cared for at Edgewood Vista in Spearfish, for about 5 years. At that time she needed nursing care and lived at Sturgis Regional Senior Care until her death.
