Philip Hines, age 54, of Huron died Wednesday, December 04, 2013 at Huron Regional Medical Center in Huron. Following Philip's wishes, there will be a private funeral, his body will then be cremated, and then there will be a private burial of his cremains. There will be no public visitation. Philip Ray Hines was born on September 23, 1959 to Ernest and Norma (Palmer) Hines in Wessington Springs, SD. He attended Wessington Springs Schools. Philip married Sharlotte McDonald at the Assembly of God Church in Huron on June 4, 1982. Philip started working for Crist Construction in 1980. In 1991, he started working for the City of Huron. Philip worked for the City for many years, until he had to retire because of health reasons in 2004. Philip always enjoyed working with his hands. He was a skilled carpenter and mechanic. He read his bible every morning. He also enjoyed gardening, metal detecting, and playing with his cats. He could often be found taking a walk with his cats. Philip is survived by his wife of 31 years, Sharlotte Hines of Huron; two sons, Arron (Cortney Walker) Hines of Huron, Adam Hines of Huron; two grandchildren, Jaiden Skinner, Matthew Hines; seven brothers and sisters, Connie (Mark) Richards of Oak Harbor, WA, Betty Phinney of Spearfish, Mable (Dewey) Dahl of Spearfish, Maxine (Charles) Richmond of Athol, ID, Ernest (Debra) Hines of Mitchell, Joanna (Larry) Surrell of Spearfish, and James (Kathy) Hines of Huron; 2 uncles, Tom (Alyce) Bard, and David Erickson; 7 aunts, Velma (Ed) Jacobe, Beverly (Roger) Seaworth, Mary Lou Stallard, Vivian Weldon, Verna (Randall) Hanson, Donna (Archie) Hallan, Carol Geyer; many nieces and nephews. Philip was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest in 2001 and Norma in 2013.
