Lindblad-Mueller
October 3, 1928 – January 7, 2017
Peggy L. Lindblad-Mueller, age 88, of Huron and formerly of Wolsey, passed away on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at Huron Regional Medical Center. Her funeral service will be 11:00 am on Friday, January 13, 2017 at First Presbyterian Church in Huron with inurnment at Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis in July. Visitation with the family present will be from 5-7 pm on Thursday, January 12, 2017 at the Welter Funeral Home in Huron; or visitation one hour prior to the funeral service at the church.
Peggy Louise Sweet was born October 3rd, 1928 in Spokane, WA to Kenneth C. and Alta (Duran) Sweet.
While still in high school she met a skinny South Dakota Army Air Corp private from South Dakota by the name of Robert Lindblad. They were married the day after her graduation on June 20th, 1946 and moved to Wolsey, SD to build their home and family. Her beloved "Lindy" passed away on March 5th, 2000 and shortly after she moved to Huron. On September 13th, 2007 she married Walter "Bob" Mueller in Huron. Bob died on January 6th, 2015.
Peggy was very proud of her employment as a Teacher's Aide in the Wolsey Public School from 1968 to 1990. She was a long time member of the Wolsey Presbyterian Church and later the First United Presbyterian Church in Huron. Peggy was also a member of the Wolsey American Legion Auxiliary and the VFW Post 1776 Auxiliary of Huron and served as District 6 guard of that unit from 1985 to 1986. Peggy was all about service to others and loved her volunteering with the HRMC Hospice and as a Pink Lady.
She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband Robert, second husband Bob, brother Don, sister Alene, infant brother Buddy and one granddaughter Ashley Joslyn.
Grateful for having shared her life are her three sons Ken (Debbie) Lindblad of Huron, Scott (Daisy) Lindblad of Suffolk, VA and Kerry (Wendy) Lindblad of Rapid City and daughter Colleen (Nick) Joslyn of Canton; ten grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; three sisters-in-law, Verla Lindblad of Wolsey, Ilsa Lindblad of Skokie, IL and Doris Sweet of Glen Arm, MD; brother-in-law George Hoyt of Omaha, NE and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be directed in Peggy's memory to the Huron Regional Medical Center Hospice.
