Paulette Wright Black age 69 of Huron, SD, passed away on Sunday, January 23, 2022 at Huron Regional Medical Center, surrounded by family.

Paulette was born on August 16, 1952 in Millington, TN, to parents Paul and Carolyn (née Jordan) Wright of Brighton, TN. While her father was in the Navy, Paulette lived all around the United States. Paulette graduated from high school in Olathe, KS, in 1970 and a year later moved back to Brighton, TN, with her family.

Paulette married Jimmie Black of Memphis, TN, on October 14, 1978 in Brighton, TN, and resided in Memphis, TN, until they moved to Adak, AK, in 1988. From there they moved back to Memphis, TN (1990-1992), then Fort Peck, MT (1992-2000), and finally landed in Huron, SD, in 2000, with seven children.

Paulette is survived by her husband Jimmie; her daughter Veronica Black and partner Benjamin Villarreal; son Nathan Black and wife Sarah; daughter Hadassah Black; son Philip Black and wife Jessica; son David Black; son Wallace Denali Black and wife Samantha; son Jesse Black; ten grandchildren; father Paul Wright; brother Randy Wright and wife Deborah; sister Ramona (née Wright) Bailey; and many nieces and nephews.

Paulette was preceded in death by her mother Carolyn (née Jordan) Wright in 2015, grandparents Lester and Oma Jordan, Paul and Onia Dell Wright.
