Paul H. Randow, age 65, of 565 Lawnridge Ave. NE, Huron, SD, died on July 26, 2009, at the Huron Regional Medical Center.
His funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, July 31, at Welter Funeral Home with burial at Ideal Cemetery and military rites by the Huron Veterans Council.
Visitation will be from 11a.m.-1:00 p.m. Friday July, 31, at Welter Funeral Home with the family present from 11a.m. until the time of service.
Paul H. Randow, the son of Paul Frederick and Margaret Madeline (Sanders) Randow, was born on January 26, 1944, in Baltimore, MD. He attended schools and graduated from the Bel Air Senior High School, Bel Air, MD, in 1962, and received his Associate of Arts Degree in Business from Harford Community College in Bel Air, MD. Paul served two tours in the United States Air Force, and four years fulltime in the Maryland Air National Guard, specializing in air traffic control, and was honorably discharged in 1971.
Paul married Linda Wolfgram on November 3, 1967, in Grand Forks, ND. He worked security for many years, with his last position being that of an INS Immigration Officer until his retirement in 2004.
Paul was a member of the Forrest McMullen VFW Post #1776 in Huron, and the Beadle County Sportsmens Club. He was also a Certified Federal Firearms Instructor. Paul was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed camping, traveling, carpentry, and spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren.
Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Linda, of Huron, SD; his 2 sons, Brian (Jennifer) Randow of Oakdale, MN, and Steven Randow of Huron, SD; his daughter, Jennifer (Randy) Tschetter, of Huron, SD; his 8 grandchildren: Amanda Richardson, Kori and Paul Randow; Annabelle and Stefan Randow, Stephen Mielke, Sierra Tschetter, and Keith Oehler; his sister, Margaret Griffith, Jarrettsville, MD; and his mother, Margaret Randow also of Jarrettsville, MD.
Paul was preceded in death by his father, Paul; his mother and father-in-law, Ernest and Helen Wolfgram; and his best friend, A.J. Johnson.
