Paul O. Meyer, age 89, of 1345 Michigan Ave SW, Huron, died Sunday, November 4, 2007 at the Huron Nursing Home. His Memorial service will be at 2:00 PM Thursday, November 8th at the Riverview United Methodist Church in Huron with Rev. Barry Whipkey officiating. Burial of his cremated remains will be at Restlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Paul Otto Meyer was born on May 30, 1918, to Otto and Frieda (Schultz) Meyer at Huron, SD. He attended Meyer country school in Clyde Township. On December 26, 1946, Paul married Ruby Meyer at her parents home in Huron. They lived and worked on the family farm in Clyde Township until 1985 when they moved to Huron where they have lived since that time. While in Huron, Paul was employed with the City of Huron in the Parks Department for three years. He was a member of the Virgil United Methodist Church and enjoyed fishing, hunting and playing cards. He is survived by his wife, Ruby of Huron; 4 sons, Steve of Huron, Richard (Carolyn) of Huron, Randy (Liz) of Broomfield, CO and Todd of Orlando, FL; 7 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Wilma King and Lulu Mencke and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 son Rodney on December 15, 2006, 5 brothers, Louie, Albert, Hubert, Ted and Edwin, and 2 sisters Selma and Alta. Memorials may be directed to the Virgil United Methodist Church.
