Patricia Walker, age 75, of 845 Nebraska Ave. SW, Huron, died Thursday, September 16, 2004, at the Heart Hospital of South Dakota in Sioux Falls. Her funeral Mass will be at 11:00 AM Monday, September 20th at Holy Trinity Catholic Church with Father Donald Imming officiating. Burial will be at St. Martin Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday afternoon and evening at the Welter Funeral Home or prior to the Mass at the church Monday morning. There will be a Catholic Daughters of America Rosary at 7:00 PM Sunday evening at the funeral home. Patricia Walker was born Patricia L. McAloon on January 3, 1929, to John and Alice (Parker) McAloon at Graceville, MN. She moved with her family to Huron when she was a child and attended St. Teresas School and graduated from Huron High School. After graduation Pat was employed at the Daily Plainsman. On April 17, 1952, Patricia married Darrell Walker at St. Martins Church in Huron. She was employed with the South Dakota Social Services Department of Child Protection, Foster Care and the Office of Child Support, in secretarial positions for 22 years which she enjoyed. Through the years Pat was an active participant in Business Professional Womens, Beta Sigma Phi, PEO, St. Martins Church organizations, YWCA and the Huron Country Club. She is survived by her husband Darrell Walker of Huron; one son, Scott Walker of Cheyenne, WY; one daughter, Kelli Walker of Lafayette, CO; two grandchildren, Josh and Cally; and one sister, Kathleen McAloon. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Mary Alyce Grace and one brother Jack McAloon. Memorials may be directed to the Prairie Heart Guest House at the Heart Hospital of South Dakota in Sioux Falls and the Holy Trinity School.
