Obituary

Patricia Coyle, age 81, of Huron, passed away on Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at her home in Huron, SD. Her funeral service will be at 10 am, Monday, October 15, 2018, at the Holy Trinity Catholic Parish in Huron with burial at St. Martin's Cemetery in Huron. Visitation with the family present will be from 12-2 p.m. Sunday, October 14, with a scripture service to begin at 1:30 p.m., at the Welter Funeral Home in Huron; or one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday.

Patricia (Pat) was born April 24, 1937 at Wood to Carl and Gertrude (Ernst) Vondra. She attended rural elementary schools, graduated in 1954 from Notre Dame High School in Mitchell, and attended Presentation Junior College in Aberdeen. She taught in rural schools and worked as a teachers' aid in Huron Public Schools, in optometry for the offices of Dr. David Bregel and Dr. James Nelson, and as Department Secretary for the South Dakota American Legion Auxiliary. She was a lifetime member of the American Legion Auxiliary. Pat held a special place in her heart for her many close friends from the Auxiliary.

She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Parish where she served as a church server for the past several years.

She married Patrick Coyle in Winner on June 21, 1958. She enjoyed spending time with her family, playing cards, and watching Wheel of Fortune nightly.

She is survived by her children Kimberly Johnson, Eagle River, AK; Vicki (Brian) Nelson, Sioux Falls; Brenda (Don) Mann, Huron; Marty, Huron; Neil (Tammy) Cambridge, MN; Matthew (Becky), Delano, MN; Kristi (Joel) Henness, Tucson, AZ; ten grandchildren, Jennifer (Chad) Wagenaar; Mandy (Tim) Redder; Megan and Joshua Coyle; Shelby Johnson; Lukas Nelson: Abby and Joseph Coyle; Konnor Henness; five great-grandchildren, Damien and Madisen Redder, Katelyn and Amelia Wagenaar, Zander Johnson; two brothers, Jack (Lois) Vondra, Bridgewater; Ray (Jean) Vondra, Rapid City; a sister Betty English, Winner: sisters-in-law Margaret Joyce, Brookfield, WI, Jane (Ed) McGuire, Sioux Falls and Sharon Coyle, Belle Fourche; brothers-in-law, Tom (Carol) Mesquite, TX and Ron (LouAnn) Nordell, Omaha, NE, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Patrick in 2014; her parents; brothers Charles and Lawrence; a sister Mary Sporrer; brothers-in-law, Don Sporrer, Leo English, Jim Coyle, Maurice Coyle, Dennis Coyle and Jerry Joyce; sisters-in-law, Ann Nordell, Cay Coyle, Dottie Coyle and Dorothy Coyle.
