Pastor Saw Garlay, age 75, of Taungoo, Bago, Myanmar passed away on Saturday, August 31, 2019 at Huron Regional Medical Center. His funeral service will be at 1:00 PM on Sunday, September 1, 2019 at the Su Knya Karen Baptist Church in Huron followed by burial at Riverside Cemetery in Huron.

Saw Garlay, the son of Saw Pawhtoo and Naw (Deborah) Pawhtoo, was born on April 19, 1944 in Taungoo, Myanmar.  His life passion was being a pastor. Saw Garlay worked as secretary of the Youth Department of Paku Baptist Association (1982-1991) then was a secretary at Paku Baptist Association (1991 to 2008) and then a Pastor (2008-2019). He was married in March 1, 1969 to Naw Christal Bell in Shwegyin, Myanmar.

Pastor Garlay was a member of the Paku Baptist Association, the Myo Gyi Road, Taungoo, and Myanmar.  He enjoyed football and boxing.

Grateful for having shared in Saw's life are his spouse, Naw Christal Bell of Taungoo, Myanmar; children, Saw O'Hae, Saw Tychicus, and Naw Noveline Paw (Robert Ree), all of Taungoo, Myanmar; grandchildren, Saw Caleb Robert, and Naw September Ree Nove of Taungoo, Myanmar; brother, Saw U Kyaw of Taungoo, Myanmar; sister, Naw Paw Rah Htoo of Taungoo, Myanmar.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
