Orphia Stienblock, age 83, of 71 Redfield Ave. SE, Huron, SD, died Thursday, August 9, 2007, at her granddaughters home in Huron under Hospice care. Her funeral service will be at 2:00 PM Tuesday, August 14th, at the Welter Funeral Home. Burial will be at Restlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:00 to 8:00 PM Monday or one hour prior to the service at the funeral home Tuesday afternoon. The family will be present from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Monday at the funeral home. Orphia Stienblock was born Orphia Irene Kraft on March 19, 1924, to Louis and Netty (Nixon) Kraft in Rockwell City, IA, where she grew up and received her education. On December 30, 1938, Orphia married Irvin Stienblock in Rockwell City, IA. The couple lived in several cities throughout Iowa, moving to Huron in 1956. Orphia was a homemaker all of her married life. Her interests included collecting figurines, doing word-search puzzles, gardening, flowers, being outdoors, and the television game show Wheel of Fortune. Throughout the year Orphia took great pride in decorating her home - corner to corner - according to that particular holiday season. She is survived by 2 daughters, Donna Dosch of Huron, and Wanda (Les) North of Huron; 1 son, Monte Bub (Virginia) Stienblock of Huron; 16 grandchildren; many great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; 3 sisters-in-law, Helen Kraft of Huron, Betty Kraft of Rockwell City, IA, and Ruth Kraft of Monticello, MN; and her beloved cat Jinx. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Irvin on April 19, 1992; 1 son, Dean Stienblock; 1 daughter-in-law, Karen Stienblock; 1 grandson, Michael Dorris; 1 great granddaughter, Heather Jo Slunecka; 2 sons-in-law, Rodney Dosch, and Alfred Dorris; 6 brothers, Wayne, Buck, Donald, Louis, Paul, and Leo Kraft; 1 sister, Opal North; 1 brother-in-law, Harold North; and 1 sister-in-law, Erma Kraft.
