Obituary

Olga H. Huizenga, 91, of Huron, SD and formerly of Hitchcock, went to be with the Lord on September 15, 2016 at Violet Tschetter Memorial Home.

Her funeral service will be at 11 am, Wednesday, September 21 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Wolsey.  Burial will follow at Restlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery near Huron.

Visitation with the family present will be from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday, September 20, 2016 at Welter Funeral Home; or visitation one hour prior to her funeral service at the church.

Olga Stierley was born February 13, 1925 to Reinholt and Amelia (Ibis) Stierley of Broadland, SD.  She lived in the Broadland-Hitchcock area all of her life.

She married Kenneth Huizenga on July 2, 1944 at Doon, IA.  They farmed near Hitchcock all of their married life.

Olga and Ken had three sons, along with her having five step-children. Olga was a long time active member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Wolsey.

Olga is survived by two sons, Monte (Jan) Huizenga, and Greg (Kay) Huizenga; six grandchildren, Matthew (Melissa) Huizenga, Michael (Tara) Huizenga, Bradley (Jeana) Huizenga, Brian (Megan) Huizenga, Sarah Lipska and Charles Leute; 11 great-grandchildren; two step-children, Marlyn Broderson, and Carol Wright; many step-grandchildren; many step-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Olga was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ken; infant daughter, Sherill; son, Kirk; sister, Amanda; brother, Reinholt; and three step-children, Marilyn, Clayton and Kenneth.
