Ola Pauline Bushfield, age 90, of Huron, died Saturday, January 3, 2015, at Violet Tschetter Memorial Home in Huron. Her funeral service will be 11:00 am Thursday, January 8, 2015 at Broadland United Methodist Church with burial in Broadland Cemetery. Visitation with family present will be from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, January 7, at Welter Funeral Home; or one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday. Ola Pauline Workman was born October 16, 1924, in Vera Cruz, MO, to Hershel E. and Mary (Long) Workman. She attended West Campbell Country School and graduated from Mountain Grove High School. Ola married Robert Bushfield on October 5, 1950 in Hardy, AR. Ola attended Sheet Metaling School and worked at a defense factory making gun turrents. She also worked for a hat factory and as a waitress at a restaurant in Mt. Grove, MO, where she met her future husband, Robert. Ola was a member of the Broadland Methodist Church and the Broadland United Methodist Women. Ola was also a member of the Beadle County Farmers Union, the In Between Extension Club, and the Hope Ladies Aid. Ola enjoyed homemaking and gardening. She was known for her pies and her sugar and ginger cookies. Ola enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and their accomplishments. Grateful for having shared in Ola's life are her son Mark (Mary Ellen) Bushfield of Hitchcock; daughters, Margaret (Peggy) (Jim) Curtis of Watertown, Mary Beth Bushfield of Watertown; eight grandchildren: Kathy (Joe) Waklee, Tim (Kayla) Curtis, Debbie Curtis, Tom (Emma) Curtis, Megan (Lyle) Riley, Adam Bushfield, Melissa Bushfield, Morgan Bushfield; nine great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Ola was preceded in death by; her parents; husband, Robert in 2010; son, Larry Bushfield in 1990; daughter, Lora Bushfield in 2000; great-granddaughter, Harper Louise Waklee in 2014; four brothers; two sisters; and a sister-in-law.
