O. Jeanette Olson, age 97, of Huron, passed away on Saturday, August 31, 2019 at Huron Regional Medical Center. Her funeral service will be on Tuesday, September 10, 2019 at 2:00 PM at First United Methodist Church in Huron with burial to follow at Riverside Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the church.

Jeanette Olson was born on April 18, 1922 to Oscar J. and Evelyn (Bryant) Olson in Huron. She attended Fairfield No. 2 school and graduated from Huron High School in 1939 and attended Northwest College of Commerce.

Jeanette was employed by Boy Scout District Office, Northwestern Public Service and 36 years by South Dakota Department of Transportation District Office in Huron.

Jeanette was a member of the First Untied Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, where she served as Vice President, Secretary and Circle Chairman, member of Methodist G.B.G., Beadle County Republican Women, Huron Area Senior Center, and past member of the Huron Lioness Club and RSVP.

Jeanette was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Carol (Olson) Greenley, her uncle and aunt Herman and Maxine (Bryant) Gruhn,  aunts Gertrude Olson and Mary Collins, and her cousins Hollace and William Gruhn.

Jeanette is survived by her step-nephew Owen (Sandy) Greenley; cousins Remy (Miller) Newcombe, Honor (Miller) Karol, Alice (Gruhn) Kexel, and Jennifer Gruhn.
