Nita Louise Miller, age 66, of Huron, passed away on Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at her home. Her memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 8, 2014 at the Welter Funeral Home in Huron immediately followed by a celebration of Nita's life at the Huron Elk's Club. Burial will be held at Mount Hope Cemetery in Watertown, SD at a later date. Visitation with the family present will be held from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Friday, November 7, at the Welter Funeral Home in Huron; or one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Saturday. Nita Louise Christensen, the daughter of Jens and Lucille (Anderson) Christensen, was born on October 11, 1948 in Wessington Springs, SD. She attended school and graduated from Wessington Springs High School. She also attended Spearfish College. Nita married Michael Miller on August 26, 1970 in Wessington Springs, SD. Nita lived in Rapid City and Quincy, IL before moving to Huron, SD. Nita and her husband, Mike owned and operated Millers Jewelry for 37 years. Nita enjoyed horseback riding, reading, golf, and spending time with her family and friends. Grateful for having shared in Nita's life are her husband of 44 years, Michael Miller of Huron, SD; two sons, Chris (Janelle) Miller and Kevin (Denise) Miller, both of Watertown, SD; five grandchildren: Dakota (Jason), Montana, Derek, Connor, and Rylan; four great-grandchildren; brother, Don (Laura) Christensen of Omaha, NE; and sister-in-law, Diane Christensen of Sun City, AZ; and many special nieces and nephews. Nita was preceded in death by her parents, Jens and Lucille Christensen; step-dad, Roscoe Dean; brother, Dennis Christensen; sister, Vickie Miller; parents-in-law, Ray and Lois Miller; and brother-in-law, Bob Miller.
