Nila Jean Ondricek, age 83, of, Huron, died Saturday, December 29, 2018, at the Huron Regional Medical Center. Her funeral service will be 1:30 PM Monday, January 7, 2019, at the Bethesda Church of Huron with burial at the Restlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 12:00 PM until the time of the service at the church on Monday.

Nila J. Peskey, was born on October 1, 1935 to Edward and Evelyn (Moeding) Peskey Huron, SD. She attended schools in the Huron area.

On June 24, 1951, Nila married Myron Ondricek at Pipestone, MN. The couple lived in Huron until 1959, when the family moved to Colby, KS.  They returned to Huron in 1968.  Nila and Myron owned and operated the "New To You Store" in Iroquois where they sold antiques and collectables.

Nila was a member of the Bethesda Church of Huron, and the Bensley-Rounds American Legion Post #280 of Iroquois Women's Auxiliary.   Nila enjoyed baking, taking care of animals, and antiquing with Myron.  Nila always loved volunteering at the nursing home and was always willing to take care of other people and help them out whenever she could.

Grateful for having shared in Nila's life are her son, Randy (Arlette) Ondricek of Huron; four grandchildren, Carol (Paul) Whatley, Lee Ondricek, Jena Ondricek, and Matthew Ondricek; three great-grandchildren, Noah, Ellie, and Morgan; brother, Richard Peskey of Huron, SD; sister-in-law, Jackie Peskey of Texas; daughter-in-law, Jane Ondricek of Huron; and several nieces and nephews.

Nila was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Myron in 2004; son, Ricky Ondricek in 2000; two brothers; and one sister.
