Myrtle Schinderling age 69, of Corsica, SD, formerly of Huron, SD, died on Saturday, June 18, 2011, at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD. Her funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 24, at Welter Funeral Home in Huron with burial at Restlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery in Huron. Visitation will be Thursday from 1-8 p.m. at Welter Funeral Home with family present from 6-8 p.m.; or Friday afternoon one hour prior to the service. Myrtle Schinderling, daughter of Gerhardt and Maude (Lefler) Schinderling, was born on February 15, 1942, in Huron, SD. She attended school in Huron. Myrtle worked at Valet Cleaners; Day Care Center; and for many years was a cook at Violet Tschetter Memorial Home. She retired in 2006 due to ill health. In 2007 Myrtle moved to Corsica, SD, where her best friend, Pearl Klein, cared for her. Myrtle was a past member of Salvation Army Church in Huron, and presently a member of the Lighthouse Church in Corsica, SD; and Moose Lodge. She enjoyed bowling, was a member of 3 bowling teams, embroidery, painting of towels, crossword puzzles, watching television games, playing cards and table games. Once you met Myrtle you were never a stranger and she enjoyed being around people and helping others. Myrtle is survived by her sister, Francella Lentz of Huron; her special friends, Pearl and Larry Klein of Corsica; 10 nieces and nephews; and her beloved dog, Sammie. Myrtle was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Gerhardt "Gary" Schinderling; and 3 sisters, Juanita Schinderling, Maryls Schinderling, and Iva Wahl.
