Myrtle Dubro Anderson, age 83, of 764 Illinois Ave. NW, Huron and formerly of Phoenix, AZ, died Thursday, August 17, 2006, at the Huron Regional Medical Center. Her funeral service will be at 2:00 PM Thursday, August 24th at the First Assembly of God Church with Rev. Ballard Blount and Rev. Tom Brantner officiating. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday afternoon and evening and Thursday morning at the Welter Funeral Home or prior to the service at the church Thursday afternoon. There will be a Prayer Service at 7:00 PM Wednesday evening at the funeral home with the family present from 7:00 to 9:00 PM. Myrtle Anderson was born Myrtle Geraldine Dubro on September 1, 1922 to August J. and Nettie (Lorenz) Dubro at rural Iroquois. She attended grade and high school in the Esmond area. In 1939 she attended Wessington Springs College and taught in rural schools for several years. She attended Madison State Teachers College and Chicago Evangelistic Institute. Following this she taught in Huron and Mitchell school districts. She married Albert A. Anderson in June of 1964. They moved to California in the early 80s and to Phoenix in the early 90s, where they have lived since. They recently returned to Huron and resided in Country View Estates. They attended church regularly and she was the bookkeeper for Jubilee Christian Center School. Myrtle was an encourager to others and helped them in their walk with the Lord. She is survived by her husband Albert A. Anderson of Huron; 2 sisters, Viola (Ozro) Traub of Didsbury Alberta Canada and Verda (Vince) Rhoads of Huron; one sister-in-law, Kathie Dubro of Fremont, CA; 3 stepchildren; several step-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Calvin Dubro, and a sister Nina Crandall.
