Myron Zeeck, age 83, of Huron, died Wednesday, March 19, 2014, at Huron Regional Medical Center. His funeral service will be 10:30 am Saturday, March 22, 2014, at Immanuel Lutheran Church of rural Cavour with burial including military honors at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation with family present will be from 6-8 pm Friday, March 21, 2014, at Welter Funeral Home in Huron; or Saturday morning one hour prior to the service at the church. Myron Leroy Zeeck was born on November 5, 1930, near Huron, SD, to Paul and Stella (Kief) Zeeck. He attended country school south of Cavour through the Eighth grade. Myron worked on the family farm until he joined the United States Marine Corps on October 17, 1951. He served during the Korean War at Camp Pendleton in California. After his Honorable Discharge on October 16, 1953, Myron returned to the family farm south of Cavour. Myron married Zona Ross at American Lutheran Church in Huron on January 22, 1961. He worked for Frank Griffth as a bee keeper and Terex-Telect before he and Zona started Country Camera. Myron was a member of the Marine Corps League, American Legion Bensley-Rounds Post #280 of Iroquois, and Immanuel Lutheran Church. He enjoyed wood working, fixing things, and especially loved spending time with his family. Myron is survived by his daughter, Glenda (Glen) Palmquist of Carpenter, SD; three grandchildren, Drew, Callie, and Cody Palmquist; sister-in-law, Velda Zeeck of Huron; several nieces and nephews. Myron was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Zona in 2012; son, Scott in 1995; his brother, Wayne Zeeck; and nephew, Marty Zeeck.
