Milford Brown, Sr., age 78, of Sioux Falls, and formerly of Huron, died Thursday, January 3, 2008, at Avera McKennan Dougherty Hospice Home in Sioux Falls. THE LOCATION AND TIME/DAY OF HIS MEMORIAL SERVICE HAS CHANGED TO THE FOLLOWING: His memorial service will be at 2:00 PM Saturday, January 12, at Holy Trinity Catholic Parish with Father Terry Anderson officiating. His body has been cremated and their will be no visitation. Milford Stanley Brown was born on January 22, 1929, to Claude and Dora (Groneau) Brown, Sr., at rural Sisseton, SD. He received his education in country school through the 8th grade and graduated from Sisseton High School in 1947. On September 10, 1949, Milford married Joyce Hilton at Huron. He moved to Huron shortly after graduation and worked at Armour & Company until the plant closed. He then worked for Swift, and then Dakota Pork, retiring in 1991. He was a member of the Mens Club; bowling league; and table-pool league. His interests included watching the Minnesota Twins and Vikings. He is survived by his wife, Joyce of Huron; 1 son, Paul (Berta) Brown of Huron; 5 daughters, Linda Matthisen of Marcellus, MI, Sally (Scott) Cerkoney of Alpena, SD, Debra Regnier of Watertown, SD, Pamela Brown of Richmond, VA, and Amy Fuerst and her special friend, Mike Sanderson of Huron; 22 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; 3 brothers, Earl (Sandra) Brown of Holland, MI, Clayton (Gladys) Brown of Butte, MT, and Claude Brown, Jr. of Sisseton, SD He was preceded in death by his parents; 1 son, Milford Brown, Jr.; 1 granddaughter, Hillary Regnier; 1 sister, Irene Plant; 1 infant brother, Dale Brown; 1 son-in-law, Martin Matthisen; 1 brother-in-law, William Plant. The family will be gathering at 834 Colorado Ave SW.
