Michelle Hartung, age 39, of 1475 Lincoln Ave. SW, Huron, died Tuesday, March 21, 2006, at the Huron Regional Medical Center. Her funeral mass will be at 11:00 AM Friday, March 24, at Holy Trinity Catholic Parish with Father Joe Holzhauser officiating. Burial will be at St. Martin Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday afternoon and evening at the Welter Funeral Home or prior to the mass at the church Friday morning. Michelle Hartung was born on September 24, 1966, to John and Louise Lou (LaFrance) Hartung at Huron, SD. She lived in Huron until moving to Redfield in June of 1972, returning to Huron in March of 1986 where she has been a resident of the Center For Independence. Her many interests included people watching, listening to music, collecting angels, attending music concerts, and shopping with her primary caregiver, Alayne Rowcliffe. She is survived by her father, John Hartung of Huron; 1 sister, Sharleen (Gary) Hansen of Eden Prairie, MN; 1 brother, Shane (Nancy) Hartung of Sioux Falls; her nieces and nephews, Alex Hansen, Alyssa Hansen, Natalie Hartung, and Nathan Hartung. She was preceded in death by her mother, Lou Hartung on May 7, 2001; and both sets of grandparents.
