Michael Waldner, age 58, of Huron Colony, passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on Thursday, June 19, 2014 after a long battle with cancer. His funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 21, 2014 at the Huron Colony with burial in the Huron Colony Cemetery. Michael Waldner, the son of Joe J. and Elizabeth (Wurtz) Waldner, was born on October 30, 1955 at Huron Colony where he spent his life working around the colony. He always had good workmanship and didn't quit until the job was done right. Michael always had a friendly smile and a kind word for anyone he met. Grateful for having shared in Michael's life are his wife of 34 years, Matilda ; one daughter and two sons: Dorita (Joseph) Newport, SD Michael - Huron Colony Judah - Huron Colony His brothers and sisters: Mary Ann (John), Spring Valley, Dora (Jerry), Fordham, Larry (Pauline), Huron Colony, Kathryn (Jackie), Riverside Colony, Judy (Leonard), Mayfield, Terry (Betty), Huron Colony, Melvin (Greta), Pennsylvania, Johnny (Linda), Huron Colony, Norman (Sara), Shamrock Colony, Sarah (Stanley),Spring Creek, and Lisa (Aaron), Miller, SD; and numerous nieces and nephews. Michael was preceded in death by his grandparents; his parents; his father and mother-in-law; brother, James; and brother-in-law, Mike.
