Michael Monti, age 49, of Huron, passed away on Friday, January 19, 2018 at Huron Regional Medical Center.

Cremation has taken place and his memorial service will be 11:00 am on Thursday, January 25, 2018 at Welter Funeral Home in Huron.

Michael "Mike" Francis Monti was born in Cambridge, Massachusetts on February 22, 1968 to Louis and Barbara Monti. Mike enjoyed playing sports and received a baseball scholarship to Huron College.

His hobbies included cooking Italian meals, cheering for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and spending time with his daughter and grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Louis Monti. He is survived by his mother, Barbara Monti, Pinellas Park, FL; Daughter Layla (Eric) Jacobs, Huron SD; Grandchildren; Rage Kjellerson, Zeplin Ransom, Ziggy, Eleanor, and Harrison Jacobs; Kailee, Ericka, and Thomas. Brother Louis Monti, Jr. of Pinellas Park, FL and sister Doree Monti, of Salem, OR. Niece; Lacey Monti; and step-daughters, Michealle Ransom and Sheena Schoenwetter, both of Huron. He is also survived by his fur-baby, Bella.
