Michael Burgess, age 60, of Huron, passed away on Monday, August 30, 2021 at Huron Regional Medical Center in Huron. His funeral service will be at 2:00 PM on Thursday, September 2, 2021 at Welter Funeral Home with burial to follow at Riverside Cemetery in Huron. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Michael Burgess was born on January 27, 1960 to parents Matthew and Barbara (VanRipper) Artz in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. His graduated from high school. Michael worked lawn care for most of his career.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Gwen Jensen, Diane Ramsey, and Mary Rodesch.

He is survived by his daughter, Rosa Lee Burgess of South Dakota; siblings, Larry Artz, Leonard Artz, Wanda Schoenwetter, Vicky (Gary) Ferguson, Margaret (Scott) Quiram, all of Huron, and Kathy (Gary) Stahl of Minnesota; brothers-in-law, Doug Ramsey of Nevada and Chuck Rodesch; and many nieces and nephews.
