Merlyn Melcher, age 75, of 360 Frank Ave. SE, Huron, died Thursday, September 22, 2005, at the Huron Regional Medical Center. His body will be cremated and there will be no services. Merlyn Ray Melcher was born on February 23, 1930, to Hugo and Pearl (Roundy) Melcher at Aberdeen, SD. He received his education at Aberdeen. On June 5, 1965, Merlyn married Virginia Wagner at Aberdeen. He farmed in the Aberdeen area until 1975 when he retired. In 1992, they moved to Huron where he resided until his death. Merlyns great joy in life was raising cattle and working on the farm. He is survived by his wife, Virginia of Huron; 1 daughter, Jeanne (Brian) Krug of Medford, WI; 2 sons, Marvin Dallman and Steven Dallman; 5 grandchildren, Brittany, Ashley, Rachel, Jeremy, and Merlyn; and 2 sisters, Oriole (Calvin) Nelson and Helen (Fred) Reurer, all of Aberdeen. He was preceded in death by his parents.
