Mereden C. Meg Harrington, age 82, of 1251 Arizona Ave SW, Huron, died Saturday, June 4, 2005 at his residence. His memorial service will be at 2:00 PM Friday, June 10, at the Welter Funeral Home with Rev. Steven Brandsrud officiating. There will be no visitation. Mereden C. Harrington was born on May 10, 1923, to George and Sadie (Bond) Harrington at Hannaford, ND. He moved with his family to Sutton, ND, and attended School there. Meg worked on the family farm for a number of years and then moved to Valley City where he worked as a mechanic. On September 20, 1946, Meg married Ione Pfaff at Valley City. In 1952, they moved to Huron where Meg was a mechanic. In 1957, Meg was employed at Armours and Company and in 1959 they moved to Cavour. He retired from Armours in 1977 due to a disability. Ione died on November 18, 1983, and in 1986, Meg moved to Huron where he has lived since that time. He is survived by four sons, Douglas (Dianna), Daniel (Cathy), Tommy (Sue) Harrington all of Huron, and Terry (Pam) Harrington of Aurora, SD; four daughters, Sandra Anderson of Montgomery, AL, Bonnie (William) Cone of Houston, TX, Cindy (Brian) Haejder of Crystal, MN, and Tammy Harrington of Huron; 12 grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ione; his daughter, Candice; four brothers, Elno, Keith, Burt, and Wardell; and three sisters, Fern, Leida, and Ella.
