Melanie Kay Jandt, age 75, passed away on Friday, March 18, 2022, at her home in Huron, SD. Her funeral service will be at 10:30 AM Thursday, March 24, 2022 at American Lutheran Church in Huron with burial at Restlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday.

Melanie Kay Jandt, the daughter of Otto and Kathleen (Reed) Jandt, was born on March 10, 1947 in Huron, SD.  She attended school and graduated from Huron High School.  She also attended Northern College for a time. In her younger years, she worked at Rex's Jewelry and Smith Jewelry. Melanie worked as Lead Supervisor for Western Electric and AT&T Phone company for many years until her retirement. After retirement, she worked at Coach House Gifts in the mall.

Melanie was a lifetime member of American Lutheran Church where she was baptized and confirmed. Melanie loved to watch NASCAR racing and attending the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally. She also loved her cats Smokey and Silky.

Grateful for having shared in Melanie's life are her brother Reed (Sue) Jandt of Rapid City, SD; nephew Andrew Jandt; and niece Lucy (Chris) Naescher; and many friends.

Melanie was preceded in death by her parents, Otto and Kathleen; grandparents and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
