Mavis Price, age 82, of Huron passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at Dougherty Hospice House in Sioux Falls. Her funeral service will be 10:30 am Monday, July 7, 2014 at American Lutheran Church in Huron with a 3:30 pm burial at the Wilmot Cemetery in Wilmot, SD. Visitation with family present will be from 6-8 pm Sunday, July 6, 2014 at Welter Funeral Home with a 7 pm prayer service; or one hour prior to the service at the church. Mavis Ione Price was born on August 6, 1931 in Roslyn, SD to Oscar and Charlotte (Selke) Olson. She attended country school for eight years north of Summit, SD and then graduated from Summit High School. Mavis married Stanley Ruedebusch on October 30, 1948 in Webster, SD. The couple lived in Milbank, SD, Watertown, and Wolsey. Stanley died on November 24, 1969 at the age of 44. Mavis married Leonard (Jack) Price on July 31, 1971 in Huron, SD. Mavis worked at the Wolsey Post Office part time from 1965 to 1989 when they moved to Revillo where she was the Postmaster until she retired in 1992. Mavis was a member of the American Lutheran Church in Huron, the Wolsey American Legion Hershman-Gordon Post #59 Auxiliary where she served as the District Auxiliary President, Sons of Norway, NAPUS, the Wolsey Birthday Club, and Bible study. She truly enjoyed traveling all over the United States and Europe, and especially spending over 20 winters with Jack in Quartzsite, AZ. Mavis loved to play Scrabble and card games with her family. Mavis is survived by her husband Leonard (Jack) Price of Huron; her children, Nancy (Greg) Larsen of Marion, Jimmy (Brenda) Ruedebusch of Huron, Steve (Nelly) Ruedebusch Albuquerque, NM, Connie (Alan) Williams of Wolsey, David Ruedebusch of Huron, Drew (Patty) Ruedebusch of Mobridge, Lisa (Keith) Beck of Mitchell, Mark (Sheri) Ruedebusch of Colton, Larry (Rita) Price of Redfield, Jerry (Kathy) Price of Hartford, Glenda (Kevin) Meyer of Watertown, Paulette Church of Yule, FL, Doug Price of Newcastle, WY, Karma (Doug) Schiltz of Wolsey, Jeanne (Jesse) Wirth Williams Bay, WI; 40 grandchildren; 63 great grandchildren; her brother, Donnie Olson of Castlewood, SD; many dear nieces and nephews. Mavis was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Stanley Ruedebusch; one grandson, Bruce Bausch; and one sister, Elaine Ward.
