Obituary

Maude Alice Danbom, age 92, of 719 Wisconsin Ave. SW, Huron, died on Saturday, July 4, 2009, at the Huron Regional Medical Center.

Her body has been donated to the University of South Dakota School Of Medicine at Vermillion, SD. There will be no service or visitation.

Maude A. Lynd, the daughter of John A. and Ruth V. Merrill) Lynd, was born on June 24, 1917 in Hanford, CA. She attended various California Elementary Schools, and graduated from Manteca High School in 1936. Maude also attended Fresno State College for three years.

Maude married Edward A. Danbom on November 21, 1941, at Carson City, Nevada. She lived in Pueblo, CO, while Edward was serving in the U.S. Air force during World War II, and then moved to California after Edward came back from the war. Maude worked as the office manager for her husbands insurance business for 30 years.

Maude was a member of the D.A.R., Order of the Eastern Star, and Oil Painters of America. She enjoyed fine art, gardening, and cooking for her family.

Grateful for having shared her life are, her daughter, Susan (Leslie) Christen of Huron; two grandchildren, Alexis (Nathaniel) Christen Stinton of Huron and Teresa Christen Fortier of Chicopee, MA; one great-granddaughter, Arianna Fortier of Chicopee, MA; and one great-granddaughter soon to be born.

Maude was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Edward in 2008; her twin sons in infancy, James Edward and William Danbom; and son, Thomas Edward Danbom in 2002.
