Matt Joe Gross, age 22, of 476 5th St. SW, Huron, died Sunday, November 26, 2006, near Rock Valley, Iowa, as the result of an automobile accident. His funeral service will be at 2:00 PM, Friday, December 1, at the Welter Funeral Home with Father George Parmeter officiating. Burial will be at Emmanuel Mennonite Cemetery, rural Doland, SD. Friends may call Thursday afternoon and evening and Friday until time of service at the funeral home. Matthew Matt Joe Gross was born on October 2, 1984, to Dottie Gross in Huron, SD. He attended schools in Huron where he earned his GED degree. After completion of his formal education he worked as a mechanic and a farm hand. Matt was involved in 4-H for a number of years, enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, mechanics, dogs, horse shows, and was a member of Pheasants Forever. He is survived by his father, Joe Zublis, Jr. of Iowa; his mother, Dottie Gross of Huron; his half-brothers and half-sisters, Kirsten Hunter, Stian Hunter, and Rane Hunter; his grandparents, Joe and Mary Zublis, Sr. of Huron; his aunts and uncles, Donnie (Lori) Wilkinson of Redfield, JoAnne Karvonen of Vancouver, WA, and Andrew Glenn Gross of Lake Byron; numerous great aunts and great uncles, great great aunts and great great uncles, and cousins; his best friend, James Sanow; and his loving companions his dogs, Star and Rusty. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Orvonna Joan Gross, and Sidney Glenn Gross; his great grandmother, Kathrine Gross; his great grandfather, Andrew Gross; and his 1st cousin, Terrance Lee Karvonen.
