Mary "Mickie" Salisbury, age 89, of Woonsocket, SD, Formerly of Wolsey, SD, passed away on Wednesday, April 27, 2016, at the Prairie View Care Center in Woonsocket, SD.

Her funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 2, 2016 at the Welter Funeral Home in Huron, with burial at the Restlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Visitation, with family present, will be from 3-5 p.m.  Sunday, May 1 at the Welter Funeral Home in Huron; or one hour prior to the service at the Funeral Home on Monday.

Mary Nell Paulger, the daughter of Charles A. and Iva (Rutledge) Paulger, was born on April 4, 1927 in Inavale, NE. They moved to Guide Rock, NE in 1935. She attended school and graduated from Guide Rock High School in 1944.  Mickie also attended St. John's School of Nursing in Huron.  It was here that Mickie met Robert (Bob) Salisbury after his legs had been burned in a tractor fire.  Mickie and Robert were married on Easter Sunday, April 21, 1946 at the Presbyterian Church in Huron.

Bob and Mickie worked on their farm near Wolsey and raised five children.  Mickie loved being on the farm and helping Bob with the field work.

Mickie was a member of The Presbyterian Church and the Women's Circle in Wolsey for many years.  She was also a member of the Eastern Star.  Mickie enjoyed fishing, playing cards, and taking care of baby animals.  She also enjoyed spending time with her family and friends especially her children and grandchildren. Mickie loved to return to her home town in Guide Rock, NE

Grateful for having shared in Mickie's life are her daughter, Mary Louise (Vernon) Kuper of Ree Heights; 2 sons, Robert Salisbury Jr. of Wolsey, and Kevan (Kary) Salisbury of Watertown; daughter-in-law, Julia Salisbury of Wolsey; 10 grandchildren, Lonnie, Robb Kuper, Shellee (Victor) Finley, and Quinnten Kuper; Kevan II, Kory, Kully, and Kiko Salisbury; and Joe and Jamie Salisbury.  16 great grandchildren, Cassie (Mathew) Hart, Corbin Kuper, Justin Ellis, Shawn McBroom, Owen and Aiden Finley;  Koby, Tanner, Brayden, Alyssa, and Sydney Kuper;   Irelyn Salisbury, Kyler Salisbury, Marty Peterson, Carolyne and Feliciti Thunder.  Two great-great grandchildren, Kayleigh and Carter Hart.  Sister, Kathleen (John) Brooks of Cameron, MO; and sister-in-law, Mary Ann Paulger of Freemont, NE; and several nieces and nephews.

Mickie was preceded in death by her husband Robert "Bob" in 2006; two sons, Charles "Chuck" Salisbury in 2004 and Danny Salisbury in 2015; her parents; her brothers and sister: Casey (Opal) Paulger, Arthur Paulger, Shirley (Claire) Simpson, and Charles A. Paulger Jr.
