Mary Anne Nelson, age 88, of Huron, SD, passed away on Saturday, November 24, 2018 at the SunQuest Healthcare Center in Huron.

Her Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM Friday, November 30, 2018 at the Holy Trinity Catholic Parish with burial at the Riverside Cemetery, Huron.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.

Mary Anne Sikorra, the daughter of Charles Albert and Pearl Barbara (Ebner) Sikorra, was born on June 28, 1930 in Huron. She attended public schools and graduated from Huron High School in 1948.  Mary Anne worked as a secretary for the Osborn's Sales Office and the Rural Electric Agency Administration Office. She also worked as secretary for her husband's business, Bob Nelson Electric. Mary Anne finished her career working for Huron Title and Deed Company researching land titles and deeds at the local courthouse.

Mary Anne married Robert J. Nelson on September 9, 1950 in Huron, SD where the couple made their home.

Mary Anne was a lifetime member of the Holy Trinity Catholic Parish in Huron.  Mary Anne enjoyed gardening, especially tending to her flower garden, and playing the organ.  Mary Anne also loved spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren.

Grateful for having shared in Mary Anne's life are her son, Patrick (Jennifer) Nelson, of St. Paul, MN; three daughters: Carol (Rodney) Tompkins, of Huron, SD, Roberta Rosenblum, of Las Vegas, NV, and Kristine Nelson, of Lakeville, MN; five grandchildren: Steven Tompkins, Olivia Nelson, Jane Rosenblum, Finn Nelson, and Syrie Nelson; great-grandson, Kyle Tompkins; and several nieces and nephews.

Mary Anne was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Pearl; husband Robert; son Paul Nelson; brother, Charles F. Sikorra; and sister, Carol Eckhardt.
