Marvilla J. Rounds, 83, Iroquois, SD died Thursday, December 8, 2016 at Huron Regional Medical Center.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11am, Tuesday, December 13 at Holy Trinity Catholic Parish in Huron, with interment following at Maplewood Cemetery in Iroquois.

Visitation, with family present will be 5-7 pm, Monday, December 12 at St. Patrick's Hall in Cavour, followed by a scripture service at 7 pm.  Visitation will continue one-hour prior to the service at Holy Trinity Catholic Parish on Tuesday.

Marvilla Joy Poulisse was born December 24, 1932 to Nannie and Edith (Anderson) Poulisse at Huron, SD.  She grew up in the Broadland-Hitchcock area and graduated from Huron High School in 1951.

On November 10, 1951, she married Dale Rounds in Cavour at St. Patrick's Catholic Church.

No strangers to hard work, Dale and Marvilla farmed and raised 11 children (four sets of twins and three single daughters).  Along with numerous jobs, Marvilla enjoyed being a farmer's wife, gardening and numerous crafts, with sewing and quilting her favorite.  She was also an excellent baker - bread and rolls being her specialty.

Marvilla is survived by her 11 children, Darold (Cindy) Rounds, Wessington Springs, Darline (Jack) Schnetzer, Wolsey, Lois (Kerwin) Kannegieter, Willow Lake, Roger (Vickie) Rounds, Iroquois, Ronald (Marilee) Rounds, Cavour, John (Lori Korkow) Rounds, Iroquois, Joan (Gary) Biever, Iroquois, Teresa (Steven) Patterson, Sioux City, IA, Carolyn (Todd Supler) Eining, Lake Byron, Harold (Vicki) Rounds, Cavour, and Howard (Jan) Rounds, Watertown; 43 grandchildren; 59 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-granddaughter; 2 brothers, Dwayne (LaVonne) Poulisse, Huron, and Dennis (Myrna) Poulisse, Iroquois; 1 sister, Donna (Don) Paterson, Yuma, AZ.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dale; parents; two grandsons; two great-grandchildren; and one son-in-law.

Pallbearers will be her six sons.
