Martin F. Muth, 93, Wolsey, SD died Sunday, July 24, 2016 at the Huron Regional Medical Center.

Mass of Christian Burial for Martin will be at 10 am on Monday, August 1 at Holy Trinity Catholic Parish in Huron.

Martin Francis Muth was born August 31, 1922 to Phillip and Rose (Matine) Muth in Mitchell.  He attended country school in the Ethan area and later Mitchell High School.  He married Darlene Thompson on January 31, 1942 at Plankinton.  Martin had a long career with the Chicago Northwestern Railroad, he also enjoyed several years of farming on his acreage near Wolsey.  Growing up and working for CNW, Martin lived in several area communities including, Wolsey, Bancroft, DeSmet, Forestburg, Woonsocket and Ethan.

Marty enjoyed many hobbies including snowmobiling, hunting, racing, playing cards and mowing the lawn.

Survivors include his children, Ron (Connie) Muth, Wolsey, Linda (Ron) Schaible, Lead and Theresa (Dave) Nelson, Ft. Worth, TX; grandchildren, Monique (Jessie) Maccha, Steamboat Springs, CO, Erika (Zach)  Petitjean, Denver, CO, Jessica (Cody) Hulstrom, Denver, CO, Andi Lavoy, Huron, Rhonda (Mike) Hasart, Ree Heights, Heather (Brad) Kopecky, Miller, Tina (Jay) Behrends, Aberdeen, Chris (Missy) Johnson, Rapid City, Derrick Droz, Seattle, WA; 19 great-grandchildren;  brother, Joe (Donna) Muth, Bismarck, ND.  He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Darlene Muth; son, Francis Muth; grandson, William Muth; two sisters and two brothers.
