Marjorie Dolan, age 87, of 50 7th St. SE, Huron, SD, formerly of Highmore, SD, died on Thursday March 20, 2008, at the Violet Tschetter Memorial Home in Huron. Her funeral mass will be at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, March 24, at Holy Trinity Catholic Parish with the Rev. Terry Anderson officiating. Burial will be at St. Martin Cemetery in Huron. Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 23, with family present from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Sunday at the Welter Funeral Home in Huron, or one hour prior to the service on Monday. A Scripture service is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home. Marjorie Bastian, the daughter of Benhard and Gladys (Wilson) Bastian, was born on September 27, 1920, at Highmore, SD. In 1928, the family moved to Huron, SD. Marjorie graduated from Huron High School in 1938. Marjorie married Earl L. Dolan on November 26, 1938, at St. Martins Church. Marjorie was a homemaker. She worked as domestic help for many years, and helped clean for the Welter Funeral Home in Huron. Marjorie volunteered for R.S.V.P., and was a member of the Huron Senior Citizen Center. She was a member of St. Martins Church and the Holy Trinity Catholic Parish in Huron. She enjoyed going to garage sales, crocheting, and taking walks. Marjorie loved spending time with her friends and family, who were very important to her. Grateful for having shared her life are her son, Larry Dolan, Vinton, IA; her daughter, Shirley (Walter) Gorham, Montevideo, MN; six grandchildren: David (Jennifer) Gorham, Montevideo, MN, Christopher (Susan) Gorham, Plymouth, MN, Peter (Stephanie) Gorham, Mundelein, IL, Aaron (Ann) Dolan, Cranford, NJ, Jennifer (Lee) Bainbridge, Cedar Falls, IA, and Sara (Tim) Edgar Merino, CO; eight great-grandchildren: Madeline and Spencer Gorham; Andrew and Katie Dolan; Elizabeth and Kaitlyn Bainbridge, and Sierra and Nichole Edgar; sister and brother-in-law, Mary Lou and Arnie Lusch, Hartford, SD; nieces and nephews: Naomi (Don) Kintigh, Meriden, IA; Patty (Mike) Fitzmaurice, Hartford, SD; Sherry (Jeff) Nelson, Crooks, SD, and A.J. (Janet) Lusch; and many other nieces and nephews. Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Earl, in 1992; three brothers; and one sister.
