Marion Dubro, age 92, of Huron, SD, formerly of rural Iroquois, SD, died Monday, September 30, 2013, at Huron Regional Medical Center. His funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 3, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, rural Iroquois, preceded by private burial in the church cemetery. Visitation with family present will be Wednesday, October 2, from 6-8 p.m. at Welter Funeral Home with a prayer service at 6:00 p.m. Marion Herman Dubro, son of Paul and Anna (Lorenz) Dubro, was born on January 21, 1921, in rural Harrold, SD. In 1936, he moved to the Esmond, SD, area where he attended country school. He was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church, rural Iroquois. On May 28, 1947, Marion married Margery Metter. In 1949, the couple moved to rural Iroquois where Marion and Margery farmed. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church; and past member of Belle Prairie Township Weed Board of Directors. In addition to farming being his occupation it also was his hobby. When not engaged in farming Marion could be found working on equipment and anything else that needed fixing. He had a great love for any vehicle that had 4 wheels. He enjoyed hunting, the outdoors and nature's wildlife. He is survived by his wife, Margery of rural Iroquois; 4 children, Stanley (Judy) Dubro of rural Iroquois, Karen (Gene) Halsey of Huron, Kathy Kasperson of Huron, and Wayne (Patti) Dubro of rural Iroquois; 9 grandchildren, Chad (Angel) Dubro, Julie (Andy) Boomsma, Ashley (Jeremy) Jungemann, Travis (Rachel) Halsey, Alex Kasperson and friend Megan, Austin Kasperson and friend Chasidy, Amanda Halsey, Kris Halsey, and Darci (Rob) Shutterman; 10 great grandchildren, Keistan Dubro, Katie Dubro, Kera Dubro, Allyson Boomsma, Mya Boomsma, Rachel Boomsma, Emersyn Jungemann, Tracy Jonassen, Dalton Zent, and Dacee Zent; 2 brothers, Norman (Mary) Dubro of Delta, UT, and Ronald (Darlene) Dubro of Grand Prairie, TX; and 1 sister-in-law, Charlene Dubro of Midwest City, OK; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant daughter, Lauretta Dubro; a brother, Marvin Dubro; and a sister, Mildred (James) Erickson.
